I think they intend to make good products, I am sure it’s improved since 2010, and they were willing to atone for their mistakes. The Stone docking station from Henge Docks (I’m guessing the name’s an ironic nod to England’s neolithic monument Stonehenge) is a slim tethered dock that looks as gorgeous as the MacBooks. Overall I’d give the company experience a 3.5/5. They made a customer support mistake, and were willing to correct it. It’s implementation, 4 years ago, was damaging to the macintosh hardware. So what does all of this mean? I loved the concept of the product. Unfortunately, it was too late for me–I had already gotten rid of the device. When I posted that on a review of the Henge docks a year or two ago, they responded indicating how they understood their communication was poor, and they would refund me if I sent the device back. My model at the time, though, had a very significant problem–it knocked my motherboard out of alignment, eventually requiring me to get a new motherboard in my mac!Īt the time, I received communication from Henge that was vaguely ‘sorry bro we can’t help you’. Locks your MacBook using its built-in Security Slot compatible with most Kensington laptop locks.

Just connect it to the Power Delivery port on the LandingZone. Uses the MacBook USB-C Power Adapter to power the docking station and charge the MacBook.

I purchased 2 henge docks back in 2010, so it’s possible they’ve made improvements since then. Designed for MacBook Pro Model A1534 first released in Early 2015. I don’t have to unplug each individual cable, which saves time and hassle. Now when I want to take the Macbook to another room, I just remove it from the dock and I’m done. As there is no Thunderbolt in this Macbook and its power adapter is different from USBC, I was wondering which docking station I should use to complete this setup for WFH. Here’s the after shot showing the Henge Docks dock setup. Hi, I want to purchase S2421H so that I can set up a dual monitor environment with my Mid-2014 Macbook Pro Retina. MagSafe cable installed, cables organized, it’s time to connect the monitor and dock the Macbook.īut first let’s have a before shot of my desk with the 13″ Macbook Pro w/Retina display and the 29″ LG monitor. The Macbook has 4 cables attached: MagSafe, USB, 3.5mm audio cable and video cable. The cables can then be routed through the cable organizer slot on the back side of the dock. Once in place you can put the screw cover back in place and screw down the cover anchor.

You then install the cable in the open slot on the end of the dock (see above on the left).

The plastic clip slides in place over the connector. There are two tools, made specifically for the style of MagSafe included with the Macbook Pro. The next step is to place one of the plastic adapter tools over the end of the MagSafe connector. The screw cover can be removed by unscrewing the cover anchor.
